Pioneer Center is offering a new parenting group that provides a safe outlet for moms and dads to openly discuss parenting issues with other parents dealing with the same concerns and problems. Participants will also learn about basic parenting skills and resources available in the community. Free childcare and dinner is provided for all attendees. “Being a parent can be confusing with all the different advice you receive and sometimes a parent needs a safe outlet in which to ask questions or vent about problems they are encountering…this group provides just that,” says Lisa Sabol, Parenting Group Coordinator for Pioneer Center. “We want parents in our community to feel supported and know what resources are available to help build a strong family unit.” Interested individuals can join the group at any time. The group meets on Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Pioneer Center for Community Mental Health, 3rd Floor Community Room, 4100 Veterans Parkway, McHenry. Sign up to participate by calling Lisa Sabol at 815.344.1230 x 3149.
