lent-edited2Lenten Supper Study Series  – 5 to 7 pm on Sundays, February 14, 21, 28, and March 6 and 13

Make this Lent a meaningful time to learn, discuss, pray, and follow Jesus in his redemptive work in the world.

Our Theme is A Place at the Table. Come. We will share a simple meal at 5 pm , hear an informative and provocative presentation on the Crisis of Hunger in our very midst, and explore baby steps in making a difference.

Each Sunday morning during Lent, we gather at Christ’s table to celebrate Holy Communion. We’ll add another symbolic element to our table each week, and when we gather for Maundy Thursday’s Last Supper, we will have our own version of a full Passover banquet.

Our theme song throughout will be “Until All Are Fed” by Bryan McFarland

To paraphrase the Book of Worship:
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, since the earliest days of our faith, all Christians have observed with great devotion the days of our Lord’s passion and resurrection. As new converts were drawn to join the community of faith through baptism, and as baptized Christians realized their continuing need to learn and grow as disciples, renew their faith, and eek forgiveness, the church soon set aside a forty-day season of spiritual preparation before the celebration of Easter.
All of us need reminders of the mercy and forgiveness proclaimed in the gospel. All of us need reminders that all of us are invited to take our place at the table.
I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to observe a holy Lent: by self examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s Holy Word.
Blessings,
Pastor Ron
