On April 10, United Methodist Churches are called to learn about and support Native American Ministries Sunday. Our Native American populations have seen the highest rates in teen suicide, diabetes and tuberculosis. One in four lives in poverty. A special offering helps support ministries of healthcare, transportation, children’s outreach and pastoral care. Gifts also help Native Americans who are called to ordained ministry to obtain a seminary education, equipping them to shine Christ’s love and life and light into dark places. Our UM Native American Ministries offer healing and reconciliation in ways designed to maintain dignity and to honor the unique culture and identity of Native American children of God.
