The Veterans Assistance Commission of McHenry County is presenting the following resources:
…the Veterans Resource Fair on April 28th (10am-3pm) at the McHenry VFW, 3002 W. Route 120 in McHenry. The fair includes local social service providers (including the VA) who’ve specialized services for veterans, returning service members, and family members. Employment services, education services, legal services, healthcare services, and VA Advocacy services are a few examples of what is available. (see flier below)
…the Employment Event is specific to Veterans and Service Members looking to meet employers ready to hire. This event will be on May 12th (1-3:30pm) at the McHenry County Government Admin Bldg, 667 Ware Road in Woodstock (one block north of the courthouse). Some guests at last year’s event were hired on the spot! Veterans and Service Members looking to attend are encouraged to dress smart, bring their resume, and be prepared for an interview. Anyone needing help with their resume or interview skills should contact Mike Ruffner with the Illinois Department of Employment Security –VETS at 815-334-2792.
