Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. Founded by the Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training. Today, Compassion helps more than 1 million children in 26 countries.
This Sunday April 24th , Compassion families of Christ UMC will share their experience of sponsoring a Compassion child and how taking part as a Compassion family not only transforms the sponsored child but also transforms the Compassion family that shares the love and heart of Jesus Christ.
After service, Tobey Sroga and Judy Baker will be at our Compassion table in the Narthex with Compassion Children’s photos & profiles ready to be added to your family. Many of these children are in need of a loving heart and family to love them as Jesus does. The monthly sponsorship is $38.00 and a commitment until they turn 18 years of age. Prayerfully consider sharing your family and heart by becoming a Compassion family. Your commitment and correspondence with your Compassion child through letters and sponsorship will bring the love of Jesus to the other side of the world. When you reach out to a child in need of that kind of love and care, you change a life!
