Our Youth will be participating in the SleepOut for Shelter at the Church of Holy Apostles in McHenry on May 14th for a donation or pledge, to sleep outside with other youth and participants from many churches and groups; committed to make a change for the McHenry County PADS homeless.
Despite a continuous battle with funding cuts, McHenry County PADS services remain in high demand. In 2015, nearly 300 men, women and children sought services with 188 people receiving services through the Day Center Program and 117 people, including 32 families with 26 children, staying in emergency sleeping beds or the transitional living facility.
To learn more about SleepOut for Shelter or the 2-to-1 match made by the McHenry County Community Foundation, visit www.SleepOutforShelter.org. Or speak to Chad Aupperle, Youth Leader. You can either sign the pledge form at church or donate directly to the CUMC Youth’s Team page: www.sleepoutforshelter.org/team/cumc-youth-explosion/
