Celebrate Summer with Friends at Culver’s on Monday, July 25th from 4:00 until 8:00pm (Location: 12950 S. IL, Route 47 – south of Huntley’s Main Street – north of I-90)
One of the best tastes of summer is eating frozen custard in an air-conditioned restaurant. We are fortunate that we can celebrate summer without having to worry about malaria. Years ago, humid summers in the United States were associated with several diseases, including malaria. Here in the United States, malaria has been history since the early 1950s. Led by the Center for Disease Control, this ancient disease disappeared from the United States. Mosquitoes in the United States are just pests for most people.
Now, United Methodists throughout the United States have joined other church denominations, and we are all trying to “Imagine a World with No Malaria.” This is our fourth year we’ve been working on a conference commitment to raise money for “Imagine no Malaria.” Every $100 we raise will eliminate this disease for one person living in an area with malaria. Malaria is preventable. Malaria is treatable.
Treat yourself on Monday evening, July 25th. Enjoy all your favorite tastes of Culver’s. You can even take home some frozen custard for another evening. Invite your friends. We will receive a percentage of all sales between 4:00pm and 8:00pm that evening.
Our conference bishop has challenged each church to raise $100 per average attendance, spread over four years. We would like to raise $2000 this year. Be sure to invite your friends and neighbors!
