Our Reconciling Ministries Task Force has been taking a Nonbinding Referendum on a proposed welcoming statement which affirms the full participation of LGBTQ persons at CUMC. Everyone is invited and encouraged to read and comment on this proposed statement (please click here for a link to the proposed statement) or you can pick up a copy in church on Sunday–see Gary Gruebnau. We want to receive your response by Sunday, October 16 so that we can discuss the results of this nonbinding referendum at Church Conference at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 27.
To help us in our decision-making process, the Task Force will be re-showing the documentary that was shown last Sunday, “Fish Out of Water” which addresses the seven Bible passages most often quoted by those who resist full inclusion. If you have not yet seen this video, please join us after worship on October 16th to gain a deeper understanding about the urgency of our reconciling process (please allow about an hour for the movie).
