11-03_faithbridge_logoFaithBridge, a local-area interreligious organization, offers two opportunities this month to promote mutual understanding and respectful relationships among diverse religious communities.
On Sunday, November 13, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, you’re invited to an interfaith conversation on Celebrations in Our Faith at the Algonquin Public Library, 2600 Harnish Drive (in the downstairs room). This gathering will explore celebrations–what do we celebrate? why? how? A panel from different religious traditions will discuss lesser-known celebrations, and offer time to talk about the significance of celebration in our own lives and communities:
On Sunday November 20, 7pm, you’re invited to an Interfaith Thanksgiving Program – “Seeking the Harmony Here Between You and Me”—at  Unity Church, 225 West Calhoun Street, Woodstock.
Gratitude is something all humans have in common. For ten years FaithBridge has brought diverse people together on the Sunday evening before Thanksgiving to celebrate and give thanks. The service is hosted in a different location each year. Past programs have included speakers, storytelling, and interactive elements in addition to readings, prayers, and music from a wide variety of faiths, ethnicities, and cultures. We end the evening sharing fellowship around a table heaped high with (vegetarian) fall treats. Scroll below for more information on each of these events.
