Plan now to be a “first-class” participant in the church’s Mardi Gras celebration. There will be Mardi Gras festivities; there will be an incredible bake sale because the bakers at CUMC will be bringing their best creations; and the money you spend at the bake sale will benefit local missions. That’s first class—having fun, helping others by participating in a bake sale, and eating treats others make later at home.

Traditionalists celebrate Mardi Gras the day before Lent begins (Feb. 28 this year).  New Orleans and Gulf Coast residents seem to celebrate it for a long season.   You can celebrate it for at least three days by purchasing three different baked items.

The Mission Team will be using the money from the bake sale to help local missions.   You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the community missions Christ United Methodist Church supports during the Sunday suppers during Lent.

Find your favorite recipes for baked goods. Purchase missing ingredients. Plan to bring your treats, to participate in the festivities, and to help local missions.
