Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Incarceration of Japanese Americans, This Saturday & Sunday
We were asked to share this information on behalf of our brothers & sisters, many who are still living and remain strong leaders in our own NIC churches, who experienced life in Japanese American concentration camps during WWII.
This coming Saturday and Sunday, the Japanese American Service Committee of Chicago invites you, your families and friends to join them in commemorating the 75th anniversary of Executive Order 9066 that ordered the incarceration of 120,000 Japanese Americans into concentration camps during WWII. They are offering various programs commemorating this historic milestone, particularly during a time when the national rhetoric is sounding a bit too similar to the days preceding EO 9066.
