You are encouraged to join us in worship at 10:00am this coming Sunday and learn more about Zacchaeus. This is the Zacchaeus who was a tax collector and cheated others by charging more and “skimming.” After meeting Jesus, his life changed. Most of us don’t have occupations where we can cheat; we do though have opportunities for changing our own lives and helping others change their lives.
In McHenry County we have an agency, Turning Point, which helps women and children who are victims of domestic violence. They provide crisis intervention, emergency shelter, counseling, mental health services, emergency food and clothing pantries and a host of other programs. They help others change their lives.
Join us at 5:00pm for our baked potato bar supper. There will be a host of potato toppings, and you will “decorate” your potato with all your favorites. At 5:45 a spokesperson from Turning Point will give a presentation on the agency. You will learn about the agency’s mission, their programs, and ways you might help women and children change their lives.
We encourage you to attend the program and help change the lives of others in this community. As you help others, your life will also change.
