Spring is here…frozen custard awaits…and your support on April 24 will bring money for local missions. On April 24th between 4 and 8 pm Christ United Methodist Church will be partnering with the Huntley Culver’s (12950 S Illinois Route 47), and we will earn a percentage of the sales during these four hours. Members of our congregation will be welcoming individuals at Culver’s, delivering food to the tables and cleaning tables. We will work in two-hour shifts. We need a few more volunteers for the second shift.
We will benefit from everyone’s support. We would like you to stop by and purchase something. We would like you to encourage your friends to support this project. The money we make will be returned to food pantries, homeless shelters, TLS, and other McHenry County agencies. Our profit will benefit the groups who presented programs during Lent (Parables and Edibles – Lenten supper series).
The more money that is spent, the more money we will have to give to the local agencies ministering to the homeless, the unemployed, and those unable to purchase nutritious food. Culver’s will donate between 5% and 20% of the proceeds made between 4 and 8 pm on April 24th. (There’s a notice on the bulletin board near the pastor’s office which shows how much money in sales is necessary for a 5/10/15 or 20% donation from Culver’s.) So, the more people supporting this the greater the gross sales and also the greater the percentage donation from Culver’s.
If there is an excellent turnout, then we will earn the highest percentage Culver’s gives. An excellent turnout will benefit us on April 24th, but it will also benefit us when we stop with our current church bulletin on a Sunday, Wednesday or Saturday. We will be using the money made from Culver’s and the February bake sale for mission projects of Christ United Methodist Church. You will enjoy a frozen custard. Your purchase will also benefit several community agencies who work with the homeless, the unemployed and those struggling to purchase nutritious food.
