The 27th Annual McHenry County Children’s Health & Safety Fair will take place on Wednesday, July 26th from 9am to 4pm at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake.  During this event children and their parents will have an opportunity to be educated in an innovative and entertaining way by representatives from more than 50 programs and organizations. This year’s fair also offers a convenient and affordable opportunity to obtain required immunizations, physicals, and dental exams for students through the age of 18. Children under 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian–if not, they must have a signed parent permission slip.
All childhood immunizations will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis at 100 N. Virginia St. (Rt. 14) in Crystal Lake. Parents must bring the child’s updated immunization record. Medicaid and All Kids (CHIP) insurance accepted. Immunizations for uninsured or underinsured (has insurance but it does not cover immunications) will be available for $20. Call the McHenry County Department of Health at 815-334-4500 with any questions.
Dental exams will be offered at a reduced cost. A current Medicaid card will be accepted.
Also, a limited number of school physicals will be available BY APPOINTMENT ONLY for children of low-income, uninsured or underinsured families. The cost will be $20; some Medicaid will be accepted. Physical appointments can be scheduled by calling the Family Health Partnership Clinic at 779-220-9300.
