This Sunday, May 28, is the last Sunday for bringing your toothbrushes and toothpaste to church. We are collecting individual packages of toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes of 2.5 ounces or more for the Midwest Mission. The Midwest Mission is located in Chatham (near Springfield, Illinois). It’s near several interstates, and trucks can quickly deliver flood buckets, personal dignity kits and other items to those who experience natural disaster. Your donation will become part of a kit and given to someone who experiences a flood, tornado, hurricane or fire.
Churches in the Elgin District of the Northern Illinois Conference are collecting toothbrushes and toothpastes. Other districts are collecting other items. Peggy Literski, our conference delegate, will deliver these to annual conference…which is just a few days after Memorial Day. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Peggy has to carry two boxes from her car?
Last year the Midwest Mission Center distributed over 30,000 kits in one year. Let’s help them fill more kits.
