The Senior Care Volunteer Network’s Medical Equipment Loans Closet is Open to the Public! Have you ever gotten into an accident, hurt yourself and needed to borrow some crutches, a knee walker or regular walker, a wheel chair or maybe even a shower stool? Well, instead of purchasing expensive equipment such as those listed above, that you may only need for a short period of time, you can simply borrow their supply of the valuable medical equipment you need, at no-cost. All you would need to do is go over to their office located at 360 Memorial Drive in Crystal Lake, complete a loan and return agreement (can be accessed on their website), and then take the medical piece of equipment you need home. There is no time limit for how long you can borrow the equipment, though they ask you to bring it back as soon as you’re done, so the next person that needs it, can borrow it as well. They also ask that you clean and sanitize the equipment before bringing it back, especially equipment such as transfer benches, commodes or shower chairs. They have no age limitations for their medical equipment, so it is open to the public of any age. All the equipment is first come, first serve, and it is recommended that you call ahead to make sure they have the medical equipment you are looking for at 815-455-3120.
