Thank you!  In April the Mission Team collected non-perishable food and personal hygiene items for TLS-Veterans of McHenry County.   We’ve been doing this for several years now, and this year they estimated our congregation’s donations at $1500 value.   This is one of the largest donations we’ve given.  Some members of our congregation gave cash or checks, and the check we presented from your individual donations totaled $225.93.
We also had a fundraiser at Culver’s on Monday, April 23rd.   The Huntley Culver’s gives us a percentage of the gross sales occurring between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the night we work.  The percentage we receive after each time we work, depends upon the amount of gross sales.   Thank you for attending.  Thank you for encouraging your friends to attend.   This was our best sales night to date.   We earned 15% of the sales (instead of 10%), and received a check this month for $619.87.   We also received $219.41 in tips, making our total profit $839.28.   This money is being pooled with money from our bake sales and other Culver’s events and will be distributed by the Mission Team in the fall.
Bonnie Dodge organized both April projects.   She and Dave Dodge delivered numerous bags of your donations to TLS.  Our “free money from Culver’s” would not have been possible without the support of our friendly wait-staff and greeters: Maridene Akin, Richard Brooke, Terry and Peg Burke, Dave and Bonnie Dodge, Duane and Nathaniel Graf, Sue Pedersen and Daisy and Nathan Santoso.
We also want you to remember that Culver’s also makes a donation, usually 10%, of the amount you spend, when you make a purchase on Sunday, Wednesday or Saturday and turn in your current church bulletin.    If you can fit it in your schedule, perhaps you’d like to stop by Culver’s on Saturday, June 16 after the Anticipation Quartet.  They are performing at 5:00, and we’re sure you’re going to be inspired.   Perhaps you’d like to swing by Culver’s and top off your evening with a delicious treat.  Culver’s generously makes these donations as a way of thanking you for your purchases.   You do have to remember to save your church bulletin, and make sure you visit on Sunday, Wednesday or Saturday.
