Rev. Dr. Ronald Greene delivers a “Sermon on a Mount” at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018, on the lawn of Christ United Methodist Church, 9009 W. Algonquin Road in Algonquin.
The public is invited to this outdoor service which celebrates the history of the horseback preachers, particularly the Methodist Circuit Riders, who brought Christianity to the settlers of America’s frontier. The message will focus on making peace with the diversity of God’s world, in society and in nature.
“I have done this dramatic recreation at many churches over my four decades in ministry,” said Pastor Ron, a former stage actor, “and I’m excited to take one last ride before retiring at the end of this year.”
A picnic and outdoor games follow the service. The public is invited to these as well.
