Thank you for putting a smile on a child’s face who has just had one of these experiences. One week ago I delivered another 24 UMCOR school kits to the Midwest Mission Distribution Center. These school kits are stored at the distribution center and then sent when UMCOR requests them. UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) uses the distribution center near Springfield, Illinois to store several different types of emergency kits. This summer Vacation Bible School children and adult volunteers collected supplies for 33 kits, and gave additional cash donations. Each school supply kit is valued at 11 dollars and an additional dollar is requested for shipping. During July and August our church has donated actual kits or money for 78 school children. Imagine how much joy these children will have when they receive new school supplies after having just experienced so much destruction! Thank you for your donations. We all need to thank Hanh Le who purchased and packaged our kits. His shopping skills are superb, and he was able to purchase supplies for less than 11 dollars. His energetic and enthusiastic support led us to do more than we first imagined.
