Our Youth Mission Team will be commissioned this Sunday at 10AM. The Mission Team includes Rachel Hugg, Emily Williams, Breanna Erdman, Logan Moring, Ryan Greenwood, and Lisa Greenwood as their Leader. The team is heading for Walpole Island in Ontario, Canada for a week-long WorkCamp, leaving on Saturday June 30th. They anticipate the expense for this mission trip will be around $4278, which includes WorkCamp fees, rental of a van and U-Haul trailer, plus their travel expenses (gas/meals). The good news is that, through your support they have already raised $3982 which does not include monies resulting from the Colonial Café Fundraiser (they anticipate receiving a check from Colonial once its paperwork is completed). In addition, the Youth Mission Team is planning on having a “Car Wash” and “Freezer-Pop Sale” this coming Sunday in our church parking lot.
On behalf of our church, I deeply appreciate your generous support for this Mission, and also give special “Thanks” to Grace United Methodist Church in Chesterfield, Michigan for their open hospitality for our Youth Mission Team. Our Mission Team was looking for an overnight place to stay in order to get to the WorkCamp by 2pm. The people of Grace United Methodist Church are not only willing to provide lodging for our Team, but they are also going to provide their meals during their stay there (dinner and breakfast). What wonderful hospitality! So our Mission Team will be fed not only by meals, but also by the love of the people of Grace United Methodist Church before they arrive at their WorkCamp destination which is only an hour away from Walpole Island.
I am sure God’s grace will be revealed on the way and through their Mission Works. Please come to this Sunday’s worship to bless and send them out on behalf of Christ United Methodist Church.
