Because of the impending winter storm, our church secretary will be working from home on Monday, January 28th. Therefore, the church office will be closed. And looking ahead to Tuesday’s weather, it looks like Judy should be able to be in the office, but she will try to leave early due to the dropping temperatures, and then work from home the rest of the day. She will probably be leaving the office by 3pm.
Should you need to reach Judy when she is working from home, please call the church phone (847-669-9009) and leave a voice message in her mailbox (ext. 3).
If we’re having wintry weather, before leaving for church on Sunday morning or visiting the church office during the week, please remember that Christ United Methodist Church is registered with the Emergency Closing Center (ECC) should we need to close due to the weather (or for any other reason such as a power outage, etc.)
The ECC website also publishes our closed status to WGN 720 and WBBM 780 AM radio and all the local Chicago TV stations. When you visit the site you’ll find instructions for searching for our church. Be sure to enter: Christ United Methodist Church, in Algonquin. FYI: You can also sign up on that website to receive closing/status change notifications for our church via email. If you learn that our church is closed, would you please contact everyone you know who either does not have email or does not check their email on a regular basis to make sure that they, too know about the closure? NOTE: you can also call the church phone at 847-669-9009 and enter extension “808” which is our Special Events Announcement Mailbox which will include a message if the church is closed.
