Take a break from seeding your grass and working in your garden. Plan to attend the Christ United Methodist Church’s mission fundraiser at Culver’s on April 29th between 4 and 8 p.m. The Huntley Culver’s is located at 129500 S. IL Route 47 (near Powers Road). We will be receiving a percentage of the gross sales between 4 and 8 p.m. The percentage we earn actually depends upon the total sales that night. The more Culver’s earns, the higher our percentage. We earned 15% at the April, 2018 event, and that was because CUMC friends came and invited their friends and neighbors.
We need individuals to work as wait staff and as greeters. Greeters welcome individuals and have information about our church (for those who are interested). We also need waiters and waitresses to deliver food to Culver’s patrons and to wipe the tables. Please consider signing up for this on the Mission Bulletin Board, located near the pastor’s office.
The money earned from Culver’s and our May bake sale will be held in our Mission account until the end of the year. When 2019 ends, we will divide the money between local charities. In 2018 four organizations each received 20%: McHenry County PADS, Turning Point (McHenry County shelter for abused women), TLS Veterans of McHenry County, and UMCOR United States Disaster Relief. Two organizations each received 10%: Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Food Pantry and Home of the Sparrow (McHenry County shelter for women and children).
Yes, it is possible to enjoy the frozen custard treats, to have a meal without cleanup, to socialize with friends….and still donate to charities. It’s happening Monday evening, April 29th.
