This fall, we will journey with Rachel Held Evans and her last book, Wholehearted Faith, through worship series and small group studies. Evans was a beloved blogger and New York Times best-selling author who died unexpectedly in 2019 at 37 as a young mother of two children. Her love for the church and honest struggles as a believer helps us to explore universal human questions about becoming and belonging. May these words of Evans be an invitation to all of us this season:
“I have come to believe that wholehearted faith, like all wholehearted living,
requires taking risks, cultivating vulnerability, and embracing uncertainty –
both in our individual lives and in our communal life together.
It demands that we admit all that we cannot know,
and it encourages us to pursue it nonetheless.”
