Marseilles needs help Nearly three months after the Illinois river breached the levee and gushed into the streets of Marseilles, Ill causing widespread flooding and damage, residents are still trying to piece back their lives. The raging water flooded 200 homes in this small town 75 miles southwest of Chicago on April 18. Many of these houses still need repairs and cleanup, while a dozen will likely need to be torn down. Pastor Carolyn Lukasick of Marseilles UMC, heads the community’s long-term recovery committee and is calling on volunteers to come in and help residents rebuild. Click here to read more.
