Early Response Teams (ERTs) provide a caring Christian presence in the aftermath of a natural disaster. ERTs are not a first response group of emergency workers or a recovery repair team. Instead this UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief)-sanctioned class will teach you the skills needed to help prevent further damage as well as provide a caring Christian presence in the early days following a disaster. The class will be held on Saturday, April 12th at First United Methodist Church in Morris, IL (118 W. Jackson Street Morris, Illinois 60450). The class will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 4:00 p.m. The class is open to all adults (18+ years old) and the class size is limited to 24 persons. The $35 fee includes all materials, breaks, lunch, *background check, UMCOR badge and tshirt. To register please call Rev. Deb Percell at 815-942-0809. For further information, please contact John Kerastas – jkerastas@gmail.com – for further information. *To comply with Safe Sanctuaries, a basic background check is required of all participants
