As our society becomes more concerned about aging issues, churches will need to plan intentional ministries by, with, and for older adults. The Older Adult Ministries Seminar will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Kingswood United Methodist Church, 401 W. Dundee Road, in Buffalo Grove, 9am—3pm.  Seminar topics include: The Importance of Older Adults in the Church (older adults are a worthy, receptive, target group on which to focus the ministry of the church); Do We Recognize, Honor, and Utilize Older Adults? (Encouraging, equipping, and supporting older adults in their ministry is an important task of congregations) and Abuse of Older Adults (A number of situations appear to put the elderly at risk of violence. In some cases, strained family relationships may worsen as a result of stress and frustration as the older person becomes more dependent)
